Nerwin is an elf of Mirkwood who has dwelt there through many lives of men. She is the protagonist of the story. She is pale of skin and pale of hair. Her eyes are of deep green, such is the color of her raiment also. Her father is Fén, a great warrior and huntsman, and her mother was Niralím, a quiet elf of humble origins though she seemed quite noble and could have passed for a princess once. Fén had said that very thing about her to his only daughter, since before she could remember. This was how she had always imagined her mother, mild, soft-spoken, gentle, beautiful beyond compare. She had, in ages past, aspired to live up to this image of her mother, to be like her and make her proud...wherever she may be.

On the name genorator, the name is spelled N-E-R-W-E-N when your name is put in there. Did you change it?

When she was still very young, her mother 'went away,' as her father put it. Now that she was older, she learned from him the truth, that she was kidnapped. It was during a raid of the orcs when darkness first began to creep into the forests again. The men had been out on the hunt and would not be returning until the next afternoon. Niralím had hidden Nerwin in a closet so that she would not also be taken. She heard much noise and fighting and then a great many wailing voices. That night she searched the caverns and halls for even a trace of her mother. All that she found were the grief stricken faces of those who had lost friends and kin.
